John Stewart

I found this draft today.  I think it's time to publish it.

Musician John Stewart died over the past weekend. He wrote the classice one hit wonder "Gold." This great tune featured Stevie Nicks singing background vocals. He was 68 and died from a stroke.

"Driving old mechanic, singing to his soul, people out there are turning music into gold."

Work

There are changes going on at work.  Not sure if I will get a raise this year.  This doesn't sit well with me.  :(

Still around

I am still around but haven't been blogging.  No particular reason.  Laziness more than anything plus life has been in the way.  Hopefully, I will get back to this more in the future.

Work

Some days you just don't want to come to work. It's not that I dislike my job but more I don't like working for other people. I should become an entrepreneur but I have the attention span of a European Swallow.

My Dad is an entrepreneur. He owns his own business and the success or failure is on his shoulders. He is of the generation that didn't like being told what to do when it comes to work. I have always been impressed by that. I, on the other hand, like a steady paycheck and paid vacation. If my Dad didn't work, he didn't eat. Actually, that is not entirely true. He was and still is very good at what he does.

I have yet to come up with my dream job. I know I am not working it. At least I have figured that out.

I would love to get paid to write but newspapers are on the way out and writing on the internet is common place and doesn't pay anything so I guess I will keep on writing as a hobby or at least until I finish my first book.

My biggest problem comes back to completing the task at hand. Not so much for work but for writing. I get bored with the subject sometimes or it runs out of steam.

My good boy

My son Alex has a classmate whose father died unexpectedly from a heart attack this past Sunday. He was 60 years old. Alex wanted to go to the funeral home when he heard about the death from my wife. He wanted to get his friend something that would help take away some of the sadness. He has such a tender heart. I am proud of him for his empathy for his friend.

BCS

I read Auburn is now number one in the BCS ratings.  Really?  I think I am going to puke.
